BILLS AND RESOLUTIONS: VOTES
(105th General Assembly, First Session: 2007)

A very brief, general abstract of a bill or resolution is offered as a summary. The abstract should NOT BE USED FOR LEGAL GUIDANCE. A bill, even if passed in the Senate, must also be passed in the House of Representatives and must receive action other than a veto by the governor, before it becomes law at a future date. A bill may be very complicated-- with multiple provisions, exceptions, and special considerations-- and cannot be completely summarized in a few sentences.

The SENATE VOTE is the vote announced immediately on the Senate Chamber floor. It is possible for a senator to change his or her vote, provided the change is made known to the Senate clerk in a timely manner and the change does not alter the final outcome of the bill. A senator may rarely change a vote, but I cannot ask the clerk for every bill if any vote has been changed. Occasionally, therefore, the official vote may be slightly different than the vote recorded herein, but the outcome of the bill will not be affected.

EXPLANATION:
Senate votes are recorded as xx/xx/xx, which represents AYE/NAY/PRESENT, BUT NOT VOTING.
